About the
​Interpretive Trail

In an effort to allow visitors to safely experience and learn about  Kalaemanō, a marked public access interpretive trail has been created that will take you past various culturally significant sites and natural features. We ask that visitors wishing to experience Kalaemanō stay on the marked path and follow all measures to help protect these historic and culturally sensitive sites.
​There are nine main interpretive stopping points. Interpretive signs containing QR (Quick Reader) codes can be found at each stopping point. Scan the QR code located at the bottom right corner of the interpretive sign with your smartphone or tablet device to learn more about each of the sites. You can also learn more about each of these sites by downloading the self-guided interpretive trail brochure by clicking on the button below.

Help care for the resources 

  • Stay on marked path.
  • Refrain from stacking stones.
  • Do not move or take any resources, including stones from the cultural sites.
  • We ask that you do not do any rubbings or molds of the petroglyphs.
  • Refrain from rebuilding any of the sites.
  • Refrain from stepping over or on walls and petroglyphs.
  • Do not remove any vegetation near sites.
  • Take all trash with you when you leave.
